Is this for real?

Posted by JP Thu, 21 Feb 2008 08:51:00 GMT

Some guy apparently discovered a keylogger inside his Dell Laptop.

If this isn't a hoax, we're truly living in a fucked-up world.

After the Air Guitar, the Air MacBook

Posted by JP Fri, 18 Jan 2008 01:45:00 GMT

Who needs the real thing when you can have a pretend scratch-proof, water-tight, solar-powered, ultralight Air MacBook?

Like an Air Guitar, it's made of air, but think of all the upsides:

  • Don't need to send it back to Apple to change its battery;
  • Don't need an external CD/DVD drive;
  • Don't problems at airport security;
  • Can't forget it in a taxi.

IMHO, it's a much better value than the original.

"7 reasons I switched back to PHP after 2 years on Rails"

Posted by JP Thu, 15 Nov 2007 21:37:00 GMT

A somewhat interesting read, although the author fails to give any details regarding Rails' limitations (sic) and that the article is probably just a publicity stunt.

As you can guess, as entertaining as the article is, I disagree with most of it and think the author should go back to playing guitar.

Meh.

I love this comment:

"Useless post without a concrete illustration.

Show us an example of:

  1. What you tried to accomplish.
  2. How you tried to implement it in rails.
  3. The rails code that "didn't work."
  4. The "beautiful" PHP code you created instead."

Ourbis - or how to locate Montréal businesses quickly

Posted by JP Tue, 05 Jun 2007 03:31:00 GMT

Two Montréaler guys passionate about Rails just launched a service that is likely to become very popular. Ourbis is its name and it will make your life easier if you live in or around Montréal.

Ourbis is a simple to use business locator that uses the Google Maps API to let you find businesses geographically, using a very intuitive interface.

I looked around my neighborhood and quickly located some restaurants that I didn't even know existed. There seems to be around 115000 businesses in the system so you're bound to find what you're looking for!

Check it out, my description can't do it justice.
